Ambassador Guo Shaochun Meets with
Zimbabwean President Mnangagwa

On April 25th, Ambassador Guo met with Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa, holding cordial talks on the China-Zimbabwe relations and pragmatic cooperation in various fields.

Ambassador Guo commended President Mnangagwa for his efforts to lead the Zimbabwean government and its people to achieve economic development and livelihood improvement.

Ambassador Guo briefed on the assistance provided by the Chinese government to help Zimbabwe to fight against the hurricane. Within the framework of FOCAC and BRF, China is willing to implement the consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries. China will continue to promote bilateral exchanges at various levels, actively participate in and support post-disaster reconstruction, and deepen cooperation in such fields as agriculture, mining, manufacturing, finance and infrastructure. China is ready to promote bilateral people-to-people exchanges and upgrade the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.

President Mnangagwa thanked China for the assistance during the hurricane and hoped that China will continue to provide support for the post-disaster reconstruction. Zimbabwe attaches great importance to the relations with China and will continue to firmly adhere to the one-China policy. Zimbabwe will strengthen coordination and cooperation with China in international and regional affairs, and accelerate the implementation of the FOCAC Beijing Summit outcomes and BRF projects to bring tangible benefits to the two peoples.

After the meeting, Ambassador Guo gave a joint interview to the Chinese and Zimbabwean media in the presidential office. The event was covered by ZBC and the Herald.
