An Open House Day at the Chinese Embassy

To improve Zimbabwean teenagers' understanding on China, on October 17th, the Chinese Embassy in Zimbabwe held an Open House Day event which was attended by some teacher and student representatives from Harare International School as guests. Charge d' Affairs Mr. Zhao Baogang presented the event and Mr. Ding Song, Culture Mission Director hosted the event.

Charge d' Affairs Mr. Zhao gave speech on the development of China, relevant experience and foreign policy. He emphasized and hoped the students further understand the traditional friendship between China and Zimbabwe through this Open House Day event, strive to become the 'folk ambassador' to improve relationship development between the 2 countries, contribute their role to promoting friendly cooperation between the two countries.

Teachers and students from Harare International School watched short film on introduction of the latest progress of China-Zim Cooperation in high spirit under the guidance from the Embassy diplomats. They had discussion meeting afterwards with Director of Political Affairs at the Embassy Guo Jing, Second secretary for economic and Commercial Affairs, Feng Chun answering questions from the students on China Economy development, China-Zim Relations, China-Zim Trade, China-U.S. Trade War etc. The students also tasted traditional Chinese foods at the end of the event.

Throughout the whole day, the Embassy was in a joyful atmosphere with warm interactions. Students said the time they spent in the Embassy was unforgettable as they have a better understanding of China and China-Zim friendship, they hope they can practically participate in promoting the relationship between China and Zimbabwe when they grow up.
