Fox said that Mexico expects to learn from China's successful experiences in organizing the APEC meeting, as Mexico is the host next year.

Jiang extended welcome to Fox and said Fox's state visit to China last June was very successful, during which the two sides exchanged views on major international issues and bilateral relations, and reached broad consensus.

China and Mexico are both important developing countries, he said, adding that the mutually beneficial cooperation between the two sides has yielded positive results, which is in the essential interests of the two peoples. China wishes to further its cooperative relations with Mexico on the basis of equality and mutual benefit.

Jiang thanked Mexico for its support of China hosting the APEC meetings this year.

Jiang said that China is willing to share its experiences in organizing the meeting with Mexico and wished next year’s APEC meeting a success. We wish that through our joint efforts, the two countries can contribute to the economic development in the Asia-Pacific region.
